LAHORE, Nov 03 (APP): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday sent Falak Javed, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf social media activist, to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in connection with the case pertaining to an attack on Islamabad Police at Zaman Park.
ATC Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the proceedings, wherein Falak Javed was produced after the completion of her physical remand.
The investigation officer (IO) requested an extension in physical remand, stating that Falak Javed was involved in attacking Islamabad Police officers and that a petrol bomb had been recovered from her possession. The IO added that further investigation was required.
However, the defence counsel opposed the request, arguing that the accused had already remained in police custody for 21 days, and no further physical remand was justified.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court rejected the prosecution’s plea for further remand and ordered that the accused be sent to jail on judicial custody.
The Race Course police had registered a case against Falka Javed and others on charges of  attacking Islamabad Police officials who had arrived at PTI founder’s residence in Zaman Park to serve a summons notice. The angry workers allegedly hurled petrol bombs, leaving several police officers injured.
