Excise Motor branch achieves 74pc recovery target in first half of fiscal year

MULTAN, Jan 04 (APP):The Excise and Taxation Department’s Motor Branch Multan achieved 74 per cent of its annual revenue target by the end of the first half of the current fiscal year.
According to official figures, the Punjab government had set an annual revenue target of Rs 1.65 billion for the Motor Branch for the ongoing financial year. Against this target, the department successfully collected Rs 1.22 billion during the first six months.
Officials said the revenue was generated through new vehicle registrations, token tax collections, and transfer fees.
A spokesperson for the Excise and Taxation Department said that under the leadership of Director Excise and Taxation Multan, Iftikhar Ahmed Bhalli, the Motor Branch demonstrated commendable efficiency and commitment in achieving this milestone.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Iftikhar Ahmed Bhalli emphasized the importance of public awareness in boosting tax collection. He urged citizens to ensure timely vehicle registration and payment of token taxes.
He further noted that the introduction of e-payment systems has significantly enhanced transparency and strengthened public trust in government institutions, making tax payments more convenient and efficient.
The director directed the concerned staff to intensify recovery efforts and continue working diligently to ensure 100 percent achievement of the revenue target for fiscal year 2025–26.
