PESHAWAR, Feb 26 (APP):The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seized more than three kilograms of narcotics, including ice, ecstasy pills and hashish, and arrested three accused during major anti-narcotics operations carried out across the province.
According to an official release issued on Thursday, the crackdown was conducted under the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics to dismantle organized drug networks and protect the youth.
During the operations, 247 grams of crystal meth (ice) were recovered in Abbottabad, 350 ecstasy pills were seized in Peshawar, while 2.4 kilograms of hashish were confiscated on the Peshawar Motorway and three accused were taken into custody in separate actions.
In Abbottabad, excise police conducted a raid near the Havelian Interchange and arrested an ice dealer identified as Naveed Hussain Shah, a resident of Mansehra.
The operation was led by SHO Faisal Khan under the supervision of Circle Officer Irshadullah Afridi, with Additional SHO Naseem Khan and other officials assisting.
The accused is under investigation at the Abbottabad Excise Police Station.
Meanwhile, in Peshawar, the Excise Intelligence Special Squad intercepted an accused along the Peshawar–Islamabad Motorway near H-Gol Chowk and recovered 350 ecstasy pills concealed inside a pair of shoes.
The accused, Muhammad Tariq was arrested and a case registered at the Peshawar Excise Police Station.
In a separate operation on the Peshawar Motorway, an excise team led by SHO Imad Khan under the supervision of Majid Khan seized 2.4 kilograms of hashish and detained a suspect. Further investigations from the accused were underway.
