Ex judge firing case, Hassan Nawaz Khokhar granted physical remand

 RAWALPINDI, Nov 14 (APP):Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Rawalpindi Judge Amjad Ali Shah approved the police request for a 5-day physical remand of accused Hassan Nawaz Khokhar on Friday. According to the details, the police produced the accused in the court informing that data recovery from the cell phone of the accused is yet to be completed. The court, while granting the remand, ordered to reproduce the accused before the court on November 19.
The case stems from FIR No. 2180 which was registered on September 19, this year, at Police Station Chaklala, pertaining to unknown persons opened fire on former Lahore High Court judge, and Pakistan Bar Council member, Hassan Raza Pasha’s office on September 19 and fled away. However, Hassan Pasha remained safe as he wasn’t in his office.
The police constituted a special investigative team for the incidence resulting in arrest of the shooter. During the investigation, the actual shooter Babar alias Babri was arrested by the police, who confessed that Hassan Nawaz Khokhar, the younger brother of Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, had hired the shooters for the firing. The accused Hassan Nawaz Khokhar’s previous interim bail had been canceled by the court, leading to his arrest. Sections of the Lawyers Protection
Act are also included in the case. Former judge Hassan Raza Pasha’s son Advocate Wajih Hassan presented his stance in the court that his case was not properly pursued.
