LAHORE, Jul 10 (APP):In the financial year (FY) 2023-24, the income of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) reached Rs. 4,725 million with a substantial increase of Rs. 1,305 million.
Also, 6,135 hectares of land worth about Rs. 39 billion were retrieved from illegal occupant, according to a press release, issued here on Wednesday.
According to the federal government orders, ETPB Chairman Syed Attaur Rehman, Chairman One Man Commission (OMC) Dr. Shoaib Saddal and former chairman Arshad Farid, properties were retrieved and records were digitised, the land records were updated, which increased the income of the board. The release said year 2023-24 proved to be a success with the best strategy of Secretary Board Farid Iqbal.
In the year 2022-23, the income of the board was Rs. 3,420.90 million. In the year 2021-22, the annual income of the department was only Rs. 2,845 million, which had increased by about two billion rupees annually. Practical steps were taken to renovate temples, gurdwaras and religious places of minorities and better facilities were provided to those coming to Pakistan.
An operation was carried out against illegal occupants in all districts of Evacuee Trust properties, especially Nankana Sahib, Karachi, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Okara, Dipalpur, Hasan Abdal, Lahore, and properties worth Rs. 39 billion were retrieved with the cooperation of the FIA and other institutions.
