“EoP” to boost online virtual tours of country’s scenic spots: Zahid Chanzeb

PESHAWAR, Aug 18 (APP):Adviser to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Tourism and Culture, Zahid Chanzeb visited the head office of a private tourism technology company “Jazz Mosafir” and looked at the ongoing work on the project Eye of Pakistan (EoP) being accomplished jointly in collaboration with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) and private sector company.
The Online virtual journey of the country’s hill stations and scenic spots would be made possible under this project. Moreover, pre-travel arrangements, weather updates and access to Tourism facilities would also be made available with the click of a special mobile app.
DG KPCTA Tashfin Haider, CEO of Jazz Nusafir Sajad Khan, Manager Digital Transformation Cell (DTC) Abdul Baseer and other officers of the Authority were present at the moment.
Zahid Chanzeb eulogized the innovative and round-the-clock efforts of the project officials and acknowledged that the use of modern technology in the tourism industry would make it more functional and greatly contribute to accentuating our natural tourism and cultural resources globally which would ultimately tend to raise government revenue including the precious foreign exchange.
 He said that in the modern era, there is a growing trend to endure and evaluate different tourist places in the world without travelling to these places through virtual tourism, which includes technologies such as VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality) and 360-degree videos.
Zahid Chanzeb on this occasion highly valued the role of the private sector in the tourism industry in terms of technology, contributing to the development of the economy and creating job opportunities.
He said that the best facilities can be provided for domestic and foreign tourists by just using technology, including online booking, flat forms, modern navigation systems, timely weather conditions and virtual reality tours of tourist places in the modern age.
He emphasized streamlining the online reservation systems for the convenience of tourists and said it would permit access to the services of hotels, transport and guides easily and tourism opportunities would be improved While this is also the goal of the “Eye of Pakistan” project.
An advisory meeting of the Department of Tourism and Culture and company officials was also held under the chairmanship of Zahid Chanzeb on this occasion. During the meeting problems hindering the promotion of tourism and culture in KP and the measures to solve them were reviewed and necessary decisions were taken.
During the meeting, CEO of the company, Sajjad Khan also presented an overview of some of its innovative services and products, including the weather forecasting system “Weather Walay”, agri-tech platform “Bakhabar Kisan” and its flagship tourism platform “Jazz mosafir”. Highlighting the collaborative project “Eye of Pakistan”, he said that it aims to provide live exposure of natural spots and hill stations not only in KP but across Pakistan along with additional facilities such as reduction of travel risks, up-to-date weather conditions and data sharing through which, digital tourism will get a huge boost.
The CM Aide on Tourism appreciated the innovative efforts of the company and expressed confidence that the new project would help tourists to cover the beauty of Pakistan not only through comfortable travels but also through mobile and internet in the shortest possible time.
He further stressed exploring the avenues of public-private partnership to advance the tourism sector, find new ways of economic development and increase the world-wide digital reflection of Pakistan’s natural beauty.
He said there are immense opportunities for the provincial government and the private sector to further integrate the tourism industry in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, set us up for a prosperous future of the tourism industry while his KP government would encourage steps in this regard, he concluded.
