Enhancing Telecom Services: SCCI, PTA hold productive meeting

SARGODHA, Aug 28 (APP):Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) Enforcement Zonal office Faisalabad Director, Farhan Khalid, on Thursday met  with Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President, Khawaja Yasir Qayyum, to discuss enhancing telecom services in the Sargodha region.
According to the SCCI spokesperson here, the meeting highlighted strengthening the stability of communication systems and enhancing cybersecurity measures for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) as crucial areas for improvement.
The meeting emphasized the need for expanding and improving cellular services in rural areas to ensure equitable access to communication infrastructure. The discussion also highlighted capacity constraints faced by local ISPs, with potential solutions to bolster their capabilities and improve service delivery.
The social responsibilities of telecom service providers and users were also a key focus, underscoring the importance of ethical practices and user protection.
SCCI President Khawaja Yasir Qayyum reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to working closely with the PTA, stating that the goal is to drive sustainable trade and industrial development in the area through improved telecom infrastructure and services.
SCCI Executive Members including Mr. Yasir Haneef, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Telecommunication and a large number of stakeholders from Trust Plaza participated in the session, reflecting the community’s interest in telecom development and the SCCI’s role in facilitating such discussions.
