QUETTA, Oct 25 (APP):Governor Balochistan, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, inaugurated a three-day conference and exhibition organized by the Quetta Chapter of the Institute of Architects Pakistan, highlighting the pivotal role of engineering and construction in driving national development.
Speaking at the event, Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail expressed confidence that the conference would yield meaningful outcomes, describing engineering as a cornerstone of the country’s prosperity and progress.
Addressing a large gathering of engineers, architects, and builders from across the country, the Governor emphasized the need to harness the untapped potential of professionals in the construction sector.
“Engineers and all those associated with construction are working day and night for the development of the nation,” he said. “We can secure our bright future by utilizing their hidden potential.”
Governor Jaffar Mandokhail commended the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) for its high standards in construction and urban planning, noting that projects like DHA Quetta are transforming cities with modern infrastructure and aesthetic appeal. He added that the early completion of DHA Quetta would positively impact both the local economy and regional development.
The Governor challenged engineers to lead the way in addressing contemporary challenges, particularly the energy crisis.
“The future belongs to the country that expands its solar energy production. Guide us on how to shift from traditional electricity systems to solar.”
Governor Mandokhail urged senior professionals to support underprivileged university students in Balochistan by sharing expertise and resources. He called for initiatives to teach modern skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology (IT), ensuring that the youth are equipped to meet future demands.
Governor Mandokhail formally inaugurated the exhibition and toured various stalls showcasing innovations in architecture and engineering. He concluded by warmly welcoming guests from other provinces and reaffirming his support for the sector’s advancement.
