GUJRAT, Mar 02 (APP):Police intensified its crackdown against drug peddlers and illegal arms holders, arresting eight accused and recovering narcotics, weapons and liquor in separate operations conducted in Lalamusa and Sadar circles.
According to a police spokesperson, during various raids, SHO Kunjah Police Station Mian Munir Hussain, along with his team, arrested one drug peddler and three illegal arms holders. The accused, identified as Shahbaz alias Pasha, a resident of Piro Shah, was arrested with 1,100 grams of heroin. Meanwhile, three accused Mustansar Abbas, Abid Ali and Moti son of Tariq were arrested and three 30-bore pistols along with ammunition were recovered from their possession.
Separately, SHO City Jalalpur Jattan Police Station Inspector Muhammad Anwar apprehended two drug dealers Zafar Iqbal of Garhi Baho and Ghulam Abbas of Daulat Nagar and recovered more than one kilogram of hashish from them.
In another action, SHO Lalamusa Police Station Inspector Nasir Mehmood arrested Shahbaz Masih of Chakkar Mohallah and recovered 10 litres of liquor from his possession.
Similarly, SHO Rehmania Police Station Inspector Rai Fayyaz Ahmad arrested Shakeel Sarwar of Phalrowan and recovered an illegal rifle from him.
Police have registered separate cases against the arrested accused and further investigation is underway.
