Eastern Wastewater Treatment project to bring environmental revolution in Faisalabad: MD WASA

FAISALABAD, Nov 12 (APP):Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Sohail Qadir Cheema has said that Eastern Wastewater Treatment Plant project will bring environmental revolution in Faisalabad.
Chairing a meeting here on Wednesday, he reviewed the progress and addressed operational challenges.
Project Director Kamran Raza, Deputy Director Faizan Shakoor and representatives of project contractor were also present in the meeting.
The participants discussed in detail the import of machinery and other implementation hurdles, with various proposals presented to ensure timely and efficient completion.
MD Sohail Qadir Cheema said that Eastern Wastewater Treatment Plant is the only such project in Punjab which would help in significantly reducing environmental and air pollution while converting 33 million gallons of daily sewage from the eastern side of Faisalabad into reusable water for agriculture.
He described the initiative as a transformative step for WASA Faisalabad and city’s residents. He said that special focus has been directed toward overcoming construction challenges to ensure the project’s early execution.
He assured that all necessary preparatory measures have been completed, and the construction work is set to commence soon.
He said that WASA Faisalabad and the contractors are fully committed to jointly initiate the construction phase without delay. The project would prove a milestone toward sustainable urban and environmental development, he added.
