LAHORE, Jul 24 (APP):The Chief Minister’s e-taxi project will be launched in August, the Transport Department has completed its work.
Punjab Transport Department official sources told APP Thursday that a portal is being prepared with the support of PITB for online receipt of applications, adding, a quota of 30 e-taxis will be allocated in the scheme for women.
They said that nine companies have been shortlisted for the provision of e-taxis on interest-free easy instalments, the scheme will be formally launched in two weeks, the Punjab government will pay the markup, token tax and registration fee of the vehicles.
To a query they said that a business and financial model has also been prepared for the implementation of the e-taxi scheme.
It is worth mentioning here that under the pilot project, 1100 e-taxis will be provided to fleet owners, individual level and ride companies.
