FAISALABAD, Dec 19 (APP): A drug-peddler was killed and three others manage to escape in an encounter in Chak Jhumra police area late Thursday night.
According to the police spokesperson here on Friday, In-charge CCD (Headquarters) Syed Iram Raza Shah had set up a picket at Jhumra bypass at night. The police officials signaled two motorbikes riding by four persons to stop, but they resorted to fire on the police party.
In retaliation, one accused was injured. Police arrested him, who was later identified as Qaisar, son of Zafar of Gulzar Colony, while his accomplices managed to flee. Police also seized 1.25kg ice, 50 grams of ice and illicit weapons from the site.
The accused was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
