ABBOTTABAD, Dec 24 (APP):In a major breakthrough in Dr Warda abduction and murder case, police have arrested another suspect, Adil, and recovered crucial evidence that could help advance the investigation.
According to the police sources, acting on Adil’s guidance, authorities recovered Dr Warda mobile phone, national identity card, and ATM card from the house of another accused, Shamraz. A large cache of weapons was also seized from Shamraz’s residence, including a mortar shell, hand grenades, a rocket launcher round, and multiple rifles, according to SP Ayaz Khan.
The arrested suspect revealed the location where Dr Warda’s body had been buried. Following the recovery of the weapons and evidence, the police registered an FIR under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
Adil was presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court, which granted a seven-day physical remand to allow police to continue the investigation and carry out further searches.
SP Ayaz Khan described the recovered arms as “heavy and sophisticated,” highlighting the serious nature of the case. Police have pledged to ensure swift justice in this high-profile murder case.
