DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jul 17 (APP):District Police Officer (DPO) Nasir Mehmood on Wednesday visited main mourning processions’ routes, Imambarghas in Dera Ismail Khan and Paroa Tehsils to review the overall security situation and arrangements to ensure peace and order in the district during Ashura.
On this occasion, while talking to media, the DPO directed that the security plan should be implemented in letter and spirit and added that no negligence and lapse in security would be tolerated.
He said that the 10th Muharram was a day of great sanctity. The Dera police worked very hard for peaceful conduct of Muharram ul Haram. The DPO mentioned that the security concerns and risks were part of our job but the morale of the whole police was high.
He hoped that the Muharram ul Haram would end peacefully with the cooperation of the security forces and the people of Dera Ismail Khan.
