RAWALPINDI, Dec 09 (APP): District Police Officer (DPO) Murree Raza Tanveer Supra held an open court at Murree Police Station on Tuesday, pledging prompt resolution of public grievances and direct access to justice, a police spokesman said.
The forum was organised as part of the DPO’s efforts to take justice to citizens’ doorsteps. A large number of residents attended and raised issues ranging from delayed investigations to traffic congestion, drug-related complaints and the need for stronger patrolling in tourist areas.
Addressing the gathering, DPO Supra said the police’s foremost duty was to provide timely and fair justice and that negligence in that regard would not be tolerated. He directed on-the-spot instructions to the officers concerned to address complaints without delay.
He said public service, protection of life and property, and access to basic facilities remained the top priority, adding that the police station remained open to every citizen and that all available resources were being deployed to resolve complaints. He further said practical reforms were being introduced at police station level to ensure quick relief.
The DPO said a special security and traffic management plan had been finalised for Murree, stressing that increased patrolling and the use of modern technology at sensitive points would strengthen public safety, particularly for women and children.
According to the Murree Police spokesman, the open court was aimed at strengthening public trust and improving direct communication between citizens and the police. He said similar sessions would be held regularly in the future.
The participants termed the initiative a positive step, saying such measures enhanced confidence in the police and helped ensure swift resolution of public issues.
