KOHAT, Nov 25 (APP): District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, Shehbaz Elahi, paid visits to various checkpoints across the district on Tuesday to review overall security arrangements in detail.
According to APP correspondent, during his inspection, he met with police personnel deployed at the posts and directed them to remain extra vigilant in view of the prevailing situation, ensure effective checking of suspicious vehicles and individuals, and safeguard the lives and property of citizens at all costs.
He examined the duty performance of the deployed officials, their checking procedures, weapons, and other essential equipment. He emphasized that the police must remain fully prepared to deal with any emergency situation.
Meanwhile, on the special directives of DPO, police have launched a decisive crackdown against social crimes across the district. In a major action, the KDA Police Station team raided a gambling den in the KDA area, arresting several gamblers red-handed and recovering stake money amounting to Rs. 140,000 along with weapons from their possession.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of SHO KDA, Noor Muhammad, accompanied by a police contingent. The arrested suspects have been booked at KDA Police Station, while further investigation is underway.
