DPC clears majority teachers’ promotion cases in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Mar 02 (APP):The District Promotion Committee (DPC) has cleared the majority of 544 promotion cases of teachers during an important meeting held at the office of the District Education Authority.
The meeting was chaired by Tariq Mahmood, Chief Executive Officer of the authority. Salman Ahmed, Deputy Secretary (Academics) from the School Education Department, attended from Lahore, while Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Ayesha Shafqat represented the district administration.
During the session, promotion cases of teachers as well as clerical staff were presented for consideration. Out of a total of 544 teachers’ cases placed before the committee, most were approved following what officials described as thorough scrutiny, transparent evaluation and timely preparation.
Officials said the large-scale clearance of promotion cases was a significant administrative achievement and had been welcomed by the teaching community. Teachers and representatives of the teachers’ unions expressed satisfaction over the process and appreciated the leadership of the chairman of the District Education Authority and the coordinated efforts of district education officers, deputy district education officers and assistant education officers.
They said the approvals would not only boost the morale of teachers but also contribute positively to the overall improvement of the education system in the district.
In addition, the promotion process for clerical staff was also completed. Junior clerks were promoted to the posts of senior clerks, while senior clerks were elevated to the position of assistant. Officials said these promotions would enhance departmental efficiency and strengthen administrative performance.
