KARACHI, Oct 24 (APP): Sahil police station arrested a domestic worker for allegedly stealing cash, gold, and other valuables worth millions of rupees from his employer’s house in Defence area.
According to police officials on Friday, the suspect, identified as Wajid Ali, son of Muhammad Siddique, had been working at the complainant’s residence for the past eight years. Acting on the employer’s complaint, Sahil police station registered a case and swiftly arrested the accused.
During initial interrogation, Wajid confessed to repeatedly stealing cash, gold, U.S. dollars, and other valuables from the house over several years. Police said the accused also used ATM cards and cheque books to illegally transfer large sums of money, amounting to millions of rupees.
Following his confession, police recovered gold biscuits and cash worth millions from his possession.
Recovered items include: 2 gold biscuits (5 tolas each), 2 gold biscuits (2 tolas each), 7 gold biscuits (1 tola each) and cash amounting to Rs. 227,000.
The accused further revealed that he had purchased properties and vehicles using the stolen money and transferred large sums to various bank accounts.
The case has been handed over to the Investigation Police for further inquiry, while efforts are underway to trace the suspect’s bank accounts and assets, police officials said.
