LAHORE, Dec 28 (APP): Commissioner Punjab Social Security Zulfiqar Kharal made a surprise visit to the basic health centers of Garhi Shahu and Township and reviewed the medical and administrative matters.
During the inspection, doctors and dispensers were found absent at the social security centers, on which the commissioner took immediate action and issued orders to suspend both of them and also sought a full report from the medical advisor.
The commissioner reviewed the medicine stock, cleanliness and arrangements at the health centers and gave clear instructions that negligence in the treatment of workers will not be tolerated.
He also took note of the dilapidated condition of the Garhi Shahu Social Security Health Center and directed to immediately start the repair work.
During the visit, a sick child from the health center in the Township was referred to Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital for better treatment.
The Commissioner directed the MS Nawaz Sharif Social Security Hospital to ensure complete follow-up of referral patients and said that the referral system should be made more active for the convenience of the workers so that the patients can be treated on time.
The Commissioner, while meeting the workers and their families present at the health centers, reiterated his resolve that the workers will be provided with the best medical facilities at their doorsteps and strict action will be taken against irresponsible officers and employees.
