PESHAWAR, Feb 25 (APP): Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has condemned the murder of Dr Mehwish in Kohat and demanded immediate arrest of her murderer.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, president PPA-KP Dr Syed Bawar Shah and general secretary Dr Muhammad Athar Khalily have said that this heinous act of violence against a healthcare professional is deeply disturbing and utterly unacceptable.
They said that physicians devote their lives to the service of humanity, often working under demanding and challenging circumstances to care for patients and save lives. They attributed an attack on a doctor not merely to an attack on an individual, rather an assault on the entire medical community and healthcare system at large.
The office bearers of PPA-KP expressed their profound grief and extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family, colleagues, and friends of Dr Mehwish during this tragic and painful time.
The association has also called for the provision of safety and security of healthcare professionals on priority basis and taking of concrete measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
