District peace committee meeting held in Khairpur

SUKKUR, May 31 (APP):A introductory meeting of the District Peace Committee was held at the DC Office in Khairpur on Saturday, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Fayaz Hussain Rahujo.
The meeting was attended by SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi, Rangers Major Imad, and members of various sects and communities.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that foolproof arrangements would be made for Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram, and that the committee would work to strengthen ties and resolve issues through dialogue and cooperation.
He also stressed the importance of addressing issues such as drinking water, sanitation, and firefighting.
SSP Hassan Sardar Niazi stated that the police would take strict action against any lawlessness and would work to maintain peace and order in the district. He also emphasized the need for cooperation between the police, revenue officials, and other stakeholders to address tribal disputes and other issues.
The meeting also discussed the recent Pir Goth incident and decided to conduct an inquiry and take stern action against those responsible.
The committee members assured the Deputy Commissioner and SSP of their full cooperation in maintaining peace and order in the district.
The meeting concluded with a decision to hold regular meetings of the District Peace Committee to address issues and promote interfaith harmony and tolerance.
