ABBOTTABAD, Jul 24 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Khalid Iqbal Wednesday has announced the launch of a significant tree planting campaign this year as part of government policy.
He expressed these views while inaugurating the Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign at Thai Forest Thai School, Domtor Abbottabad.
Emphasizing the importance of collective effort, he called upon all departments, district administration officials, and citizens to actively participate in the initiative.
During the ceremony, he planted a tree sapling to commence of the campaign. Assistant Commissioner Galyat Sheryar Khan, SDFO Abbottabad Junaid Khatak, along with other forest officials and staff, were present in the event.
Highlighting the community’s role, Deputy Commissioner Khalid Iqbal distributed trees among local residents and encouraged their involvement in tree plantation efforts.
He stressed the need for schools, colleges, universities, and various departments to procure plants from the Forest Department and actively engage in the campaign.
