Dera Ismail Khan , Jan 17 (APP):Police in Dera Ismail Khan have arrested three suspects, including an alleged drug peddler, and recovered 850 grams of hashish during separate operations in the Paharpur area, officials said on Saturday.
According to a police spokesperson, the operations were carried out under the supervision of District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada as part of an ongoing crackdown against criminal elements without discrimination.
The spokesperson said Paharpur police, under the leadership of SP Paharpur Asad Ali Shah and SDPO Paharpur Malik Abid Iqbal, along with SHO Zafar Abbas, arrested an alleged drug dealer identified as Muhammad Aamir, son of Bahawal Khan, a resident of Kot Jai.
During the operation, police recovered 850 grams of hashish from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.
In separate actions, police also arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted in various criminal cases. The arrested suspects were identified as Barkat, son of Ramzan, a resident of Mardan Pul, and Muhammad Javed, son of Ghulam Jilani, a resident of Paharpur. Both were taken into custody in accordance with legal procedures.
The Dera Ismail Khan police reaffirmed their commitment to continue operations against drug trafficking and criminal activities to ensure peace and public safety in the district.
