DG RDA visits city areas to inspect rainwater drainage

RAWALPINDI, Jul 10 (APP): Director General (DG), Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Kinza Murtaza along with Managing Director (MD), Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi here on Wednesday on the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak visited different city areas to inspect rainwater drainage from low-lying areas.

The DG RDA on this occasion said,” Timely drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas is our top priority.”

WASA teams are in the field and busy to ensure drainage of rainwater from all areas particularly low-lying, she informed.
Due to timely cleaning of the Nullah Lai, the flow of water in Nullah Lai is normal despite heavy rain, Kinza Murtaza added.

MD WASA has given instructions to complete the WASA’s operation to clear stagnant rainwater across the city as soon as possible, the DG informed.

He said, WASA staff is working hard to complete the ongoing operation.

MD WASA informed that 50 mm rain was recorded in the twin cities so far. The highest rainfall of 47 mm was recorded at Saidpur.
