DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jan 15 (APP):The police successfully repulsed a terrorist attack on the Khutti police checkpost, killing two Khawarij during a decisive counterattack late night.
According to District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada, some unknown terrorists attacked a check post on Daraban road in the limits of Dera Town police station. The terrorists were forced to retreat following a swift and effective response by police personnel deployed at the checkpost.
The police engaged the attackers with full force, resulting in a heavy exchange of fire. As a result of the police’s timely action, two terrorists were killed, while one police constable sustained minor injuries during the gunfight.
The DPO, including SP Saddar, DSP City, DSP Suburb, along with additional police contingents, were present on the occasion.
The DPO commended the courage and professionalism of the police personnel, stating that the attack was thwarted due to their bravery and vigilance. He reaffirmed that the morale of the district police remains high and that law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to deal with any threats.
