DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 24 (APP):The Dera police have made significant breakthroughs against robbery and theft networks, arresting 14 suspects, including a female robber linked to multiple incidents across the district.
District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada, while addressing a press conference here at the Command and Control Centre, said the arrested suspects belong to an inter-provincial gang wanted by Punjab Police in 17 cases of robbery and theft.
The police recovered four stolen vehicles, 25 motorcycles, 12 mobile phones, a pistol with ammunition, and cash snatched at gunpoint during various incidents.
In the City Division, SP Ali Hamza, accompanied by SDPO Muhammad Adnan and SHOs Arslan Khan Gandapur and Khanzada Khan, arrested a three-member gang involved in motorcycle theft and street robberies, seizing 19 motorcycles from the suspects.
In separate operations, Dera Town Police recovered two snatched motorcycles, while Shorkot police recovered three stolen motorcycles, transformer coils, electric wires, a snatched pickup and six stolen mobile phones.
In Pezu Division, SHO Yarik police arrested four suspects including a female accomplice involved in a vehicle snatching incident near the CPEC route. The police also recovered a snatched Land Cruiser and the pistol used in the robbery. The group is also wanted in 17 robbery and theft cases in Punjab.
Meanwhile, Saddar Division Police arrested four suspects involved in armed robberies in separate operations. The officers recovered two snatched pickups, a motorcycle and Rs 40,000 from a pickpocket arrested during the crackdown.
Concluding the press conference, DPO Sahibzada said the police would continue to take decisive action to ensure the safety of citizens.
He added that the Dera police were committed to eliminating crime from the district.
