Dengue tally reaches 1,014 cases in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Oct 15 (APP):The Rawalpindi dengue total tally had reached 1,014 positive cases with the arrival of 20 more patients during the last 24 hours.
District Health Authority spokesman Dr Waqar Ahmed informed that presently,51 patients were admitted to three allied hospitals in the city, including Holy Family, Benazir Bhutto, and the District Headquarters Hospital.
Giving details of the punitive actions, he said that as many as 4,518 FIRs had been registered on violations of anti-dengue SOPs from January 1 to date in various areas of the Rawalpindi district, while sealing 1,862 premises, issuing Challans to 3,531, and imposing a fine of Rs 11,014,007.
During the indoor vector surveillance from January 1 to date, the teams checked 57,347,97 houses and larvae were detected at 181,412, while during outdoor surveillance, larvae were found at 24,682 spots while inspecting 206,094 places.
The health officer expressed hope that dengue cases would end by November 15 with the decrease in temperature; however, he urged the residents to be careful during the wee hours and in the evening, as it is a suitable time for mosquito bites.
