Dengue surveillance to be expedited: FDA DG
FAISALABAD, Jul 29 (APP):Director General (DG) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhary said that dengue surveillance would be expedited for complete elimination of dengue larvae during the rainy season.
During a meeting, he directed FDA officers to ensure immediate removal of stagnant rainwater from rooftops of all FDA offices in addition to discarding junk. He said that monsoon rainy days were the most favorite season for breeding and growth of dengue larvae. therefore, surveillance should be accelerated on a war-footing.
He directed the surveillance staff to perform their duties honestly and dedicatedly for elimination of dengue menace as no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
He also directed the FDA field staff to visit private housing colonies and sensitize their developers as well as the general public about dengue larvae.
In this connection, an awareness campaign should also be launched besides displaying banners and posters so that people could take precautionary and preventive measures at their own, he added.
