Dengue SOP’s emphasized, 11 new cases reported in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Nov 03 (APP):The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has urged citizens to strictly follow dengue SOPs to avoid the spread of dengue.
Tue authority recorded 11 new confirmed dengue cases in the last 24 hours, totalling 1,372 in the year so far.
According to the latest data issued by the District Health Authority (DHA), hospitals across the district have screened 3,665 patients for dengue symptoms. 24 confirmed cases are currently admitted for treatment.
“Our focus remains on early detection and community awareness to curb the spread,” said Dr. Waqar, DHA spokesperson while talking to APP.
As many as 1,361 vector surveillance teams have inspected over 6.2 million houses, identifying 201,903 positive for mosquito breeding sites. Additionally, 1.78 million spots were checked, with 27,858 testing positive and a total of 229,761 larvae destroyed.
The authorities have taken punitive actions against violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) including 4,752 FIRs, sealing of 1,910 premises, issuance of 3,672 challans, and fines totaling over Rs.11.35 million.
The spokesman urged residents to eliminate stagnant water and use mosquito repellents.
