Dengue cases continue to rise in KP

PESHAWAR, Oct 16 (APP): The dengue situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has once again become alarming, with a continuous increase in reported cases.
According to the latest report issued by the provincial health department on Thursday, 42 new confirmed dengue cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours.
Currently, the number of active dengue cases in the province has reached 257 while a total of 3,404 people have been affected by dengue fever so far this year. The report further states that 18 new patients were admitted to various hospitals during the past day, bringing the total number of hospitalized dengue patients this year to 1,416.
At present, 47 patients are under treatment in different hospitals across the province. Fortunately, 3,145 patients have recovered from the virus. However, two deaths related to dengue have been reported this year.
Health officials have urged the public to strictly follow preventive measures to help stop the spread of dengue, emphasizing the need to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and ensure proper sanitation.
