LAHORE, Nov 24 (APP):The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has announced stringent measures against poorly maintained and dilapidated buses operating in the city’s schools, colleges, and hospitals.
According to EPD sources, the department has directed that all buses transporting students and staff must meet environmental standards, or they will face severe legal consequences.
The department stated that vehicles emitting smoke will be seized, and a final warning has been issued to both government and private institutions.
DG Imran Hamid Sheikh emphasized that emergency inspections and repairs of all heavy transport must be completed immediately.
The EPD further clarified that the entry of non-environmentally friendly vehicles will be banned entirely. Any substandard vehicles found will not only be seized but will also incur a fine.
