LAHORE, Nov 21 (APP): The Punjab government has decided to change the distribution formula of the electric taxi scheme, for the first time, women will also be given a share of the eco-friendly electric taxi scheme.
According to Punjab Transport Department sources, 100 electric vehicles will be given to women through balloting, 200 electric vehicles will be given to male taxi drivers.
The Punjab government will provide 800 vehicles to corporate taxi operators, 100 electric vehicles were to be provided to citizens individually.
The government had planned to provide 1,000 vehicles to commercial corporate drivers without interest.
The provincial transport minister said that the new formula will also provide employment opportunities to women.
