LAHORE, Jul 17 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Lahore Rafia Haider on Wednesday visited DC office control room to check fool-proof security and other arrangements for Ashura day.
The DC review the live monitoring of officers and employees of all allied departments who are on duty. With the help of more than 850 CCTV cameras, full monitoring of the main processions is going on, she added.
DC Lahore Rafia Haider said the procession was proceeding peacefully on its way.
Later on, the DC Lahore visited 145A Model Town main procession route. The main procession will pass through the traditional routes and end at Jamia Tul Muntazar Lahore, the DC added.
Assistant Commissioner Model Town Sahibzada Yusuf briefed the DC Lahore that Wasa, Health and Rescue 1122 camps are active on the main procession route of Model Town. He said food (Langar) and sweet water sabil camps have been set up for the mourners participating in the procession.
While talking with the civil defense personnel posted on the main procession route she instructed them to provide full security to the mourners. She also instructed the LWMC to adopt zero-waste policy on procession route. In order to maintain law and order during Muharram, close surveillance is being kept on the evil elements, she added.
