FAISALABAD, Jul 17 (APP):An meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir to effectively and practically implement a uniform sanitation system in urban and rural areas under the Clean Punjab campaign here on Thursday.
The performance and sanitation operations ongoing under the Waste Management Company were reviewed in detail.
CEO Waste Management Company Abdul Rauf, Assistant Commissioner Saddar Dr. Zulqarnain, other concerned officers and Assistant Commissioners Samundari, Tandlianwala, Jaranwala, Chak Jhumra participated in the meeting through video link.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that the best sanitation arrangements should be ensured in urban areas and all the targets of the clean Punjab campaign should be implemented effectively.
He urged the Waste Management Company to regularly monitor the attendance and performance of workers in the field adding that no negligence will be tolerated in this regard.
The union council secretaries should resolve the cleanliness-related complaints of citizens on a daily basis and upload them on the portal, he directed.
He said that the social security cards of the sanitation workers should be made immediately so that they can get all the legal facilities.
The DC also sought a detailed bank report regarding the timely payment of salaries to the workers of the Clean Punjab campaign.
He said that no leniency or negligence will be tolerated in the matter of sanitation adding the performance of the company is being monitored on a daily basis.
In order to improve the standard of sanitation in rural areas, he directed the concerned authorities to pay full attention to regular de-silting of sewage drains as well as general sanitation.
The officers participating in the meeting informed the Deputy Commissioner about the ongoing steps in connection with the sanitation campaign in their respective areas and assured full cooperation.
