LAHORE, Nov 01 (APP):Lahore Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza conducted a field visit to review municipal services and development activities in Tehsil Allama Iqbal Town on Saturday.
Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) Chief Officer, Assistant Commissioner Allama Iqbal Town, Deputy Managing Director WASA, and senior officials of the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection.
Assistant Commissioner Allama Iqbal Town briefed the DC on ongoing field operations, including sanitation drives, sewerage maintenance, and road patchwork. The Deputy Commissioner expressed dissatisfaction over poor cleanliness arrangements in certain areas and directed immediate improvement in sanitation conditions. He instructed the relevant departments to ensure uninterrupted door-to-door waste collection and emphasized that no manhole should be left uncovered. He ordered the immediate installation of missing manhole covers and resolution of sewerage issues to prevent public inconvenience.
DC Syed Musa Raza also directed that road patchwork and repair work be completed on a priority basis. He reiterated that no compromise would be tolerated on cleanliness and public service delivery standards. He added that the district administration and all concerned departments were active and fully engaged in the field to improve urban infrastructure and civic facilities. The Deputy Commissioner further stated that he was personally monitoring the ongoing development works under the Lahore Development Programme to ensure timely and quality completion for the benefit of citizens.
Meanwhile, DC visited the Gopi Rai area of Allama Iqbal Town to review anti-dengue measures and ensure implementation of SOPs. He was accompanied by officials from the Metropolitan Corporation, Health Department, and local administration.
During the visit, the CEO Health briefed the DC on field operations, door-to-door surveillance, and spray activities. The DC directed strict adherence to dengue SOPs, daily monitoring of performance, and special focus on hotspots. He emphasized that making Lahore dengue-free, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is a top priority. He said all departments are working jointly for the success of the campaign and warned that any negligence in anti-dengue measures would not be tolerated.
