LAHORE, Sep 15 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ejaz on Tuesday reviewed dengue

field surveillance and sanitation operations during visits to various city areas and

directed officials to intensify efforts to prevent dengue larvae breeding and ensure

timely removal of waste from temporary dumping sites.

During visits to Sanda, Islampura and Chauhan Road, the DC reviewed dengue

surveillance activities and received a briefing from the dengue staff on field operations.

He directed the teams to report the presence of dengue larvae transparently instead

of concealing findings.

He ordered spraying at 10 houses surrounding every location where dengue larvae

were detected and directed officials to eliminate all identified hotspots to prevent

further breeding.

The DC instructed dengue teams to remain active in the field and conduct daily

door-to-door checking. He warned that strict action would be taken against negligence

in the anti-dengue campaign.

DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz said effective surveillance should ensure the elimination

of dengue larvae and urged citizens to prevent stagnant water from accumulating

in and around their homes.

Later, the DC visited Gulshan Ravi, Bund Road and adjoining areas to inspect sanitation

operations. He was accompanied by CEO LWMC, Chief Officer MCL Kaleem Yousaf

and AC City Rana Amir Liaquat.

The DC was briefed on the dumping of waste at temporary sites and directed officials

to ensure immediate and complete transfer of garbage from these locations. He also

ordered regular monitoring of solid waste collection and dumping operations.

He said no delay in garbage collection and disposal would be tolerated, adding that the

results of sanitation operations should be visible in the field. He directed the Lahore

Waste Management Company to ensure zero-waste conditions across the inspected areas
