DC Quetta sworn in as District Returning Officer, PEC emphasizes transparent local elections

QUETTA, Oct 28 (APP):Provincial Election Commissioner (PEC) Balochistan, Ali Asghar Sial, administered the oath of office to Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Mehrullah Badini, appointing him as the District Returning Officer (DRO) for Quetta, ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
During the oath-taking ceremony held at the PEC office, Ali Asghar Sial reaffirmed the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent local government elections in Quetta.
He noted that preparations are in full swing, with comprehensive measures underway to support the electoral process, including the launching of specialized training for election officers, timely provision of essential election materials and implementation of key logistical and administrative protocols.
Provincial Election Commissioner Ali Asghar Sial also called for robust inter-departmental cooperation, urging the district administration, police, and other relevant agencies to play an active role in facilitating the elections. He stressed that such collaboration is vital to ensuring a peaceful environment where citizens can freely exercise their right to vote.
The Provincial Election Commissioner remarks underscored the ECP’s broader mission to uphold democratic values and strengthen grassroots governance through credible electoral practices.
