DC presided over meeting of owners of private medical center

HYDERABAD, Nov 03 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, presided over a crucial meeting of owners and representatives of private medical center at Darbar Hall Monday.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner said that medical waste generated by hospitals and private medical centers poses a serious threat to public health.
He directed all medical facilities to strictly follow waste management regulations and ensure safe disposal of medical waste through the incinerator installed at the Peoples Medical College Hospital, adding that receipts for the waste disposal will be issued to the respective centers.
DC stressed that extreme caution must be taken when administering blood transfusions, ensuring that only blood supplied by registered laboratories is used.
He also directed all private medical centers to regularly share data of patients treated for dengue and HIV/AIDS with the Health Department.
The Deputy Commissioner tasked health officials to inspect all private medical centers in the district to review their waste management systems and the process of medical waste disposal in detail.
District Health Officer Dr. Mudassir Hussain Domki, while briefing the meeting, said that with the cooperation of the district administration and relevant institutions, significant control has been achieved over the rising number of AIDS cases. He stressed that private medical centers should closely coordinate with the Health Department and ensure that all blood banks are properly registered.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Nawabshah Qazi Muhammad Rasheed Bhatti, Municipal Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Sheikh, Incharge Malaria Control Program Dr. Ashfaq Ali Mashori, Sindh Healthcare Commission Focal Person Dr. Maqsood Soomro, health department officials, owners and representatives of private medical center.
Participants of the meeting expressed their commitment to extend full cooperation with the district administration in implementing the directives.
