DC, mayor and DHO chair session on dengue larva removal and awareness

HYDERABAD, Nov 03 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abedin Memon, Mayor Hyderabad Kashif Ali Shoro and District Health Officer Dr. Pir Ghulam Hussain jointly chaired an awareness session on the survey and removal of dengue larva deposits.
 The session was attended by Local Sanitary Workers (LSWs), Local Sanitary Supervisors (LSSs), Union Council Secretaries, Town Municipal Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, DDLG and other concerned officers.
According to a handout issued on Monday, during the session, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized coordinated efforts among all departments to control dengue spread in the district.
 He directed teams to intensify larva detection and elimination activities, ensure cleanliness in vulnerable areas and keep strict vigilance through daily monitoring.
Later, Zain-ul-Abedin Memon and DHO Dr. Pir Ghulam Hussain visited different hospitals across Hyderabad to inspect dengue wards and verify that adequate medicines and treatment facilities were being provided to dengue patients.
Meanwhile, DHO’s teams have been actively conducting awareness sessions in communities and schools, educating citizens and children about dengue prevention, hygiene and early detection measures.
The handout further stated that Indoor Residual Spray (IRS) activities are being continuously carried out by DHO field teams, while fumigation drives are also underway through the concerted efforts of assistant commissioners, town municipal commissioners and union council teams to prevent further mosquito breeding and safeguard public health.
The district administration, HMC and health department reaffirm their commitment to making Hyderabad dengue-free through collective responsibility and proactive public cooperation.
