HYDERABAD, Jul 29 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Matiari Muhammad Yousif Shaikh has said that under the National Action Plan, there was a pressing need for effective coordination, harmony and joint measures among all relevant departments at the district level to ensure timely and practical progress on matters of law and order, welfare and other sensitive issues.
He expressed these views while presiding over the District Coordination Committee meeting regarding the National Action Plan held at Latif Hall, Deputy Commissioner Office Matiari.
The meeting was attended by SSP Matiari Aijaz Memon, Major Zulfiqar, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Noor Ahmed Khahro, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Iqra Janat, Assistant Commissioners of Hala Matiari, In-Charge Anti-Narcotics Jawaid Memon and all other concerned officers of the district.
Various important issues were discussed in detail including a recent incident in Saeedabad where an unauthorized wine shop was opened, upon which the Anti-Narcotics team took prompt action. In this regard, the Deputy Commissioner directed that in the future, all such illegal activities must be dealt with through joint operations by all concerned departments.
The meeting also emphasized the need to curb the spread of narcotic substances and to take strict action against drug-related crimes to protect the youth from falling into negative activities.
Additionally, preparations and the security plan for the upcoming annual Urs Mubarak of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA), security arrangements for Independence Day and the growing issue of child beggary across the district were also discussed.
The Deputy Commissioner issued clear instructions to take strict action against the use of underage children for begging and called for full cooperation among departments to eliminate this social evil.
