KOHAT, Jul 21 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohat Abdul Akram Chitrali formally inaugurated the plantation campaign with a fruit tree at Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST).
According to DC office, the ceremony was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Zafar Ilyas, Registrar KUST, officers of the Kohat Forest Department, Chairman Forestry Department, faculty members, students and other staff.
During the ceremony, students planted fruit trees on the university campus, while 400 plants were also distributed among the students to promote eco-friendly initiatives.
The DC said that the aim of the plantation campaign is to control environmental pollution, promote natural beauty and make the young generation aware of the importance of plantation.
The Vice Chancellor of KUST also appreciated this campaign in his speech on the occasion, calling tree plantation a national duty.
The Kohat Forest Department provided awareness about tree plantation and students were also trained on the protection and care of trees.
