ISLAMABAD, Sep 22 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon chaired a review meeting of the anti-dengue campaign on Friday and directed the concerned authorities to improve sanitation arrangements and launch an awareness campaign among the people to control the deadly virus.
The DC said that dengue is not dangerous but it is necessary to follow precautionary measures. He urged the people to keep their surroundings clean and avoid stagnant water accumulation, ICT spokesman Dr Muhammad Abdullah Tabassum said.
Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Additional Deputy Commissioners, District Health Officer, Assistant Commissioners and Magistrates, representatives of the health department, MCI, surveillance teams and other stakeholders participated in the meeting.
DC Memon directed the concerned authorities to improve sanitation arrangements in different areas of the city to prevent dengue and launch an awareness campaign among the people about the disease.
He said that all possible resources will be used to control the deadly virus in Islamabad and that the rural areas are among the priorities.
