DC inspects PHA nursery, Fareed Park

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 16 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Dr Farhan Farooq paid a surprise visit to the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Nursery located on Airport Road and the Fareed Park Commercial Area.
He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Tayyab and Assistant Director PHA Rana Masroor.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the nursery and reviewed the arrangements for the maintenance and care of plants. The Assistant Director PHA briefed him in detail about the various species of plants and the preparation process of saplings at the nursery.
Dr. Farhan Farooq emphasized that to enhance the city’s beauty, improve the environment, and provide shade to citizens, environment-friendly and shade-giving trees should be planted. He directed PHA officials to prioritize the plantation of fast-growing and long-lasting species during the ongoing tree plantation campaigns across the city.
The Assistant Director informed that around 7,000 saplings in the nursery will be fully ready by next month, after which they will be transplanted to various locations in Bahawalpur as part of the city’s plantation drive.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the cleanliness, plant care, and overall management of the nursery. He added that well-maintained nurseries play a vital role in creating a greener and healthier urban environment.
