DC hails peace committee members for maintaining peace during Muharram

LODHRAN, Jul 07 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Dr. Lubna Nazir has said that the district administration took comprehensive and coordinated measures to ensure peace, security, and interfaith harmony during Ashura-e-Muharram.
Chairing a meeting of the District Peace Committee, she said the district administration, police, and peace committee members played an effective role in maintaining peace.
The DC emphasized that strict security arrangements were implemented throughout the district. “A well-structured plan was also executed for Sabeels. She further said that due to ideal arrangements, anti-state elements failed in their nefarious designs.
She said that the peace committee played effective role and supported district administration. The traders of the markets also played positive role.
Renowned religious scholars including Maulana Muhammad Mian, Hafiz Muhammad Akram Kanju, and Muhammad Raza Hussain Joiya also addressed the meeting. Peace Committee member from the Christian community Jacob Aftab, business community leader Shaikh Saifuddin Saifi, and President of Central Traders Union Malik Asghar Arain praised the administration’s efforts.
The committee members extended heartfelt appreciation to DC Dr. Lubna Nazir for overseeing exemplary arrangements and ensuring peaceful observance of Ashura. They also applauded the dedication of officers and field staff who performed their duties diligently despite the intense summer heat.
Committee members offered commendation to Assistant Commissioners of all three tehsils, DSPs, SHOs, police personnel, Rescue 1122 teams, officials of the Revenue Department, District Council, WAPDA, and Sanitation staff. Civil Defense volunteers, District Health Authority teams, and Municipal Committee staff were also praised for their outstanding performance.
The special prayer was offered for national security and peace.
