DG KHAN, Sep 09 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Mehr Shahid Zaman Lak urged transporters to actively support the administration in curbing the smuggling of Iranian oil and maintaining strict adherence to government policies.
On Saturday, Dera Ghazi Khan Transporters Association held a crucial meeting with Deputy Commissioner Mehr Shahid Zaman Lak in the committee room. The Deputy Commissioner revealed that, in accordance with directives from the Punjab government, an extensive ban had been placed on the movement of vehicles carrying smuggled oil.
Under this stringent measure, no vehicles will be granted entry into the district if they are carrying Iranian oil. This decision is part of a broader effort to combat the illicit trade and other prohibited items in the region.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that transporters must refrain from installing additional tanks in their vehicles, with only genuine tanks being permitted. This move is aimed at ensuring transparency, he stated.
Deputy Commissioner Mehr Shahid Zaman Lak concluded the meeting by emphasizing the paramount importance of prioritizing the nation’s interests and diligently enforcing government policies. In a show of unity, the transporters pledged their full cooperation to support these measures.
Key officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Asad Chandia and Abdul Rahman Nasir, were also present during the meeting.
