DC, DPO lead flag march to review Muharram security arrangements in Khushab

SARGODHA, Jun 22 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr Jehanzaib Hussain Laber and District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Ammara Shirazi led a flag march on Monday as part of security preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram.
According to the official spokesperson here, the flag march was attended by personnel from the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Punjab Police, Traffic Police, Civil Defence, Rescue 1122, Health Department, WASA, Suthra Punjab and other relevant departments. The march commenced from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Khushab.
The flag march passed through key routes of Muharram mourning processions, including Joharabad-Muzaffargarh Road, Bypass Road, Ghareeb Colony, Imam Bargah Hussainia, College Chowk, Jahaz Chowk, Kalma Chowk, Katha Chowk, Madhwal Chowk, Shell Pump, Sundral Chhatri Chowk, Khushab, Grot Road and Stadium Road before concluding at the DC Office via Joharabad Road.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Dr Jehanzaib Hussain Laber said the objective of the flag march was to review Muharram preparations and strengthen coordination among all departments responsible for maintaining law and order. He said comprehensive security arrangements would be ensured on Youm-e-Ashur and emphasized the need for cooperation from religious scholars and citizens to maintain a peaceful environment. “Our top priority is to ensure that Youm-e-Ashur passes peacefully and in an atmosphere of harmony,” he added.
DPO Dr Ammara Shirazi said foolproof security measures had been put in place for Muharram processions and religious gatherings across the district. She warned that no leniency would be shown towards elements attempting to disrupt peace and urged citizens to promote the message of harmony and unity. She added that any act of provocation or mischief would not be tolerated and that law enforcement agencies remained fully prepared to ensure the safety of mourners and the general public during Muharram.
