FAISALABAD, Oct 24 (APP):Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s revolutionary step internship program has been launched for 19,000 veterinary graduates and private vets at a cost of Rs. 600 million in the province.
The program aims to provide practical training opportunities to young veterinary graduates. In the first phase 2025-26, at least 485 veterinary graduates and private vets will benefit from internship while in the second phase 2026-2027, 515 veterinary graduates and private vets will benefit from the programme. The internship period will be 20 months.
At least 15 veterinary graduates and private vets have been included in the internship program from district Faisalabad.
Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Nadeem Nasir distributed internship letters to veterinary graduates here on Friday. Additional Director Livestock Dr. Rubina Anjum and other officers and staff were present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the internship program will create skilled manpower in the livestock sector.
He said that on the instructions of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the youth were being provided maximum job opportunities.
He said that trained and educated youth in the veterinary sector will play a prominent role in this field.
He said that the program will improve the quality of milk, meat and poultry sectors in the province.
The Punjab government’s initiative is an important step towards strengthening the rural economy, he added.
