RAWALPINDI, Jul 23 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema directed officials on Wednesday to finalize an inclusive plan for the reconstruction of Nullah Leh at the earliest.
Presiding over a meeting to review the resolution of the Leh issue permanently, he said that the sixteen-kilometer-long Nullah Leh should be divided into sixteen divisions, and work of each section should be given to different companies for completion.
The meeting also reviewed the 2003 expansion plan of Leh Nullah and discussed the monitoring, fencing and beautification work surrounding it.
The DC directed the Rawalpindi Development Authority, Water and Sanitation Agency, Municipal Corporation and other concerned departments to finalise their recommendations as soon as possible so that the project could be started instantly.
Earlier, in his address to the District Emergency and Response Committee meeting, the Deputy Commissioner issued instructions regarding dengue control and warned the officials guilty of negligence, saying that no laxity will be tolerated.
