RAWALPINDI, Jul 31 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, has directed daily meetings of the District Emergency and Control Committee at night to monitor sweeping, surveillance, fogging, and other preventive activities.
He also directed to ensure regular sweeping in all union councils of the district, and no negligence will be tolerated in anti-dengue measures. He expressed these views while chairing a routine review meeting on dengue control.
The Deputy Commissioner voiced displeasure over poor sanitation arrangements in some areas and instructed the issuance of show-cause notices to the concerned Deputy District Health Officers (DDHOs).
During the meeting, Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, Coordinator of the District Emergency and Control Committee, briefed meeting participants on the ongoing anti-dengue measures across the district. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed all activities in detail and issued immediate orders to address any identified shortcomings or lapses.
The deputy commissioner further directed all relevant Assistant Commissioners to immediately seal the offices of officials found negligent in their duties or violating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
