DC Dera meets Persons with Disabilities, reviews welfare measures
Dera Ismail Khan , Jun 22 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan held a meeting with a delegation of persons with disabilities and discussed in detail issues related to the protection of their fundamental rights as well as the challenges and difficulties they face in their daily lives.
During the meeting, the participants highlighted various concerns regarding accessibility, social inclusion and the provision of facilities aimed at improving their quality of life..
The deputy commissioner listened to their issues attentively and assured them that the district administration would continue to take practical measures to safeguard their rights and address their problems on a priority basis.
District Officer Social Welfare was also present on the occasion and briefed the deputy commissioner on the initiatives and welfare programmes being implemented by the department for the benefit of persons with disabilities.
The deputy commissioner appreciated the role of the Social Welfare Department in promoting the welfare of persons with disabilities and emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to ensure their effective inclusion in society and access to equal opportunities.
He reiterated that the district administration remained committed to creating an inclusive environment where persons with disabilities could live with dignity and actively contribute to social and economic development.
